If you are into fashion then you most certainly heard of New York Fashion Week. The School of Fashion from the Academy of Art University held their own fashion show. The 21st runway showcase was held at the Skylight Clarkson Square on September 9th. The great thing was the designers are all BFA and MFA graduates from the university. Two menswear and five womenswear collections were debuted with a wide variety of influences. It was a crunch of time until the end. Designers racing to have everything ready before they showed their outlook for fashion in front of their peers, teachers, some celebrities, and it was even showed on Livestream. It all boiled down to each designer having 15 minutes on the runway. Here are a list of the designers that rocked the runway Eden Slezin, MFA, Hailun Zhou, MFA, Dina Marie Lam, MFA, Saya Shen, MFA, Carlos Rodriguez, BFA, Joanna Jadallah, MFA, Ryan Yu, MFA, Cana Klebanoff, BFA, and Jelly Shan, MFA. Each graduate had a very distinct style of fashion, pulling from their influences in life. Some of fashion designer are from different countries like China, Mexico, or even America. One of the designers was inspired by her hometown. The peace and joy she experienced certainly influenced her girly and fresh style.
The Academy of Art University offers classes on campus and online. They were founded in 1929 by Richard S. Stephens. He previously worked as Sunset Magazine’s creative director. The university is located in San Francisco, California, the hub of art. The offer certificates, pre-college programs, undergraduate and graduate degree programs to students.
Pixar, Nike, EA, Apple, and many more have hired graduate from the Academy of Art University. Alumni have held over 70 gallery exhibitions and art shows all over San Francisco every year. It is considered the largest privately owned design and art school in the United States. They currently have an enrollment of over 12,600 students and 283 full-time teachers.
There are a multitude of majors to choose from including Animation and Visual Effects, Fashion, Art History and Education, Interior Design, Photography, Graphic Design, Landscape Architecture, and so much more.
