Citizen App Is The Real Deal In Regards To Prompt News Alerts And Safety

Many things are currently happening around the globe and everyone needs to get the information in real time while prioritizing safety. Many news apps have been developed, but when staying informed and safe at the same time is a consideration, everyone needs something more advanced.

Step up Citizen is an app that has been designed to give you real time safety alerts and instantaneous access to confirmed information from 911. The app considers the safety and awareness of your loved ones at all times. The popularity of Citizen App has continued to grow steadily and currently has over 234,000 downloads and more than 7,000,000 users as most people use it to check the presence of police officers and to ensure safety during demonstrations and protests in their environs.

Citizen App started operations at New York City as vigilante in 2016, then later re-launched and re-branded as Citizen in 2017. The app discourages users from taking the law into their own hands, but aims at discouraging potentially dangerous scenarios without the users’ involvements. Citizen App therefore advises users to be cautious as they may receive news alerts before the response of police officers, and highlights the importance of not putting their lives at risk. The app has appeared on the global headlines severally since its inception including when the abducted boy was found in Manhattan after the app sent an alert and when more than 30 Citizen App Users live-streamed the fire incident at Trump Tower in 2019.

The app was originally called “Vigilante”, and launched in 2016. However, Apple pulled the program from its app store because of the title and potential safety concerns. In 2017 the company renamed it and developed it into what it is today. The freshly re-branded Citizen app was developed to keep people safe by alerting them to dangers in real-time. The app is a modern-day version of the police scanners that people listened to before more advanced technology became available.

Citizen App is akin to police scanner apps as it opens up the system of emergency response to the general public. It uses radio antennas in big cities to monitor the communications of 911, and frequently playing audio at thrice the speed. Citizen team screens and filters all communications to create short accurate alerts, which are then pinged to everyone who is at least a quarter mile from the scene of the incident. Citizen App is available on Android and IOS and currently covers 22 cities. Go here for related Information.
