Tom Keane, Corporate Vice-President of Azure Global

Tom Keane is a Corporate Vice-President of Azure Global, a cloud computing company under the Microsoft umbrella. He is responsible for Azure’s engineering and product strategy, which is Microsoft’s cloud computing platform. Before joining Microsoft in 2014, Keane was a partner at Synergy Research Group, a market research and consulting firm focused on the telecommunications and technology industries.


In addition to his work at Microsoft, Tom Keane is a member of the Board of Directors at Data Return, InterNex Information Services, and Genuity. He also serves on the Advisory Boards for Cloud Security Alliance and the Azure Training Academy. Tom Keane has also held leadership roles at several startups, including Data Return, an internet service provider; InterNex Information Services, a provider of data networking services; and Genuity, a global provider of IP networking services.


Engineer Tom Keane has been with Microsoft for over 20 years and has been a key leader in the development of many of Microsoft’s cloud computing products, including Azure. He deeply understands the underlying technology and how to deploy it for customers’ best. During his time at Microsoft, software developer and engineer Tom Keane has led the company’s Azure cloud business to become one of the largest in the world. 


Under his leadership, Azure has expanded its reach beyond traditional enterprise customers and into the broader market of startups and small businesses. Tom Keane´s work will have a lasting impact on the industry. In his role at Azure, Tom Keane is responsible for the engineering and product strategy for the company’s public cloud platform. 


This includes developing new features, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving growth in the market. Tom Keane is a recognized expert on cloud computing and data center management. He has spoken at industry events, including The Cloud Expo Europe conference in 2014 and 2016, The Information Management Summit in 2015, The International Data center Conference in 2016, and The Microsoft Ignite conference in 2017. Tom Keane oversees Azure Cyber Sovereignty engineering, security, and data residency.
